Construction companies try to rise up after Lava Jato

Even after almost a decade of Lava Jato, Brazilian construction companies affected by the investigation are still struggling to survive and get back on their feet, after the strong reputational and financial impact on their businesses. Valor Econômico spoke with our Founding Partner Thomas Felsberg, who specializes in Restructuring and Insolvency, who commented that “companies are unlikely to be what they once were. The [heavy] construction sector will be a mix between foreign construction companies, some medium-sized companies and the large groups that manage to survive”.
