Brazilian Central Bank regulates electronic duplicates

Covid-19 News

Electronic duplicates are certificates resulting from commercial operations which, following a new law of 2018, may be registered electronically. These electronic duplicates were awaiting regulations by the Central Bank in order to be negotiated. Following the Central Bank’s notice nº 4.016, the electronic system issuing electronic duplicates now follows a set of guidelines, including internal policies to allow for risk identification and assessment and proceedings so that users and writers of duplicates may clearly understand their rights and duties. The notice also determines that issuers of duplicates must work together with the Central Bank to define layout, communication, informational content and proceedings for electronic duplicates.
