President Jair Bolsonaro has approved Law No. 14,200/2021, which amends article 71 of Law No. 9,279/96 on Industrial Property, providing for compulsory licensing of patents or patent applications in cases of declaration of national or international emergency, of public interest or recognition of a state of public calamity nationwide.
