The National Circular Economy Plan (PLANEC) is approved

Last Thursday (8 May), the National Circular Economy Plan (PLANEC) was approved, marking a strategic milestone to transform the country’s production and consumption model.

Structured around five main axes, ranging from the regulatory environment to innovation, waste reduction to federative coordination, PLANEC defines 18 objectives and over 70 actions to promote circularity in the Brazilian economy.

For companies, the plan presents a concrete opportunity to innovate, reduce costs, and position themselves at a new level of competitiveness, aligned with global environmental goals and ESG principles.

The plan’s approval comes just before the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF2025), which will be held for the first time in South America, in São Paulo, from 13 to 16 May.
