By means of Ordinance nº 280, the MMA established the Waste Transport Manifest which is a virtual tool to control the generation, temporary storage, transportation and disposal of solid waste in Brazil. The use of this tool is mandatory for all generators of solid waste subject to the Solid Waste Management Plan (PGRS). The ordinance also established the National Solid Waste Inventory which determines the proper, environmentally adequate final destination for solid waste in Brazil. Both these tools will be experimentally available starting on 30 June, 2020.
