The Government will charge income tax on emergency aid in 2021

Rodrigo Prado, partner of the Tax Department, analyzed for the Folha de São Paulo, the Federal Government’s attempt to demand that beneficiaries of emergency aid declare these values in their income tax returns. According to Rodrigo, “in practical terms, the system of the Federal Revenue itself will know if the taxpayer received the subsidy. If the taxpayer does not declare it, he will probably get audited.”
