In contrast to the Sanitation area, which recently made great strides in partnering with the private sector through the CEDAE concession auction, the Solid Waste area has only 49 partnerships with the private sector, most of which are small. The survey carried out by the Brazilian Association of Public Cleaning and Special Waste Companies (Abrelpe), with data from Radar PPP and Felsberg Advogados, showed that the number of projects has been rising, but the failure rate is very high. The study was published this Thursday (13 May) by Valor Econômico.
