PGFN authorizes unpaid debt transactions due to the economic crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic

ALERTS

On 2 February 2021, the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN) published Ordinance 1,696/2021, authorizing the transaction of federal debts due in the period from March to December 2020, as well as debts related to IRPF/20, the non-payment of which is a result of the economic impact generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to take advantage of the transaction, debits must be registered in active debt by 31 March. Both the investigation of the economic impact of the pandemic resulting in the non-payment of debts, as well as the benefits to be granted, will be made in accordance with the provisions of PGFN Ordinance No. 14,402/2020 “Exceptional Transaction” – previously reported on our blog.
