The decrease in the number of requests for funds to avoid bankruptcy of companies in the State of Rio Grande do Sul is greater than that registered in the country. From March 2018 to February 2019, the State registered 138 judicial recovery requests, which represents a decrease of 16.9% compared to the previous year. Although the whole country also saw the number of judicial recovery solicitations drop, the decrease was of only 2.6% in Brazil. Renato Brandão, lawyer in Felsberg Advogados, explained how the judicial recovery process for Stemac, a company which he represents, is going. He stated that “the company has resumed growth since the entry of the [judicial recovery] measure.”
