Judicial Power moves away from billing of Contracted Demand

Contracted demand is the active power demand to be continuously made available by the distributor and which must be fully paid, whether or not it is used during the billing period. However, the São Paulo State Court of Justice handed down a decision favourable to the restriction of billing contracted demand only to the effectively used demand. The Court asserted that “in light of the current economic chaos and the paralysis of economic activities, the plaintiff does not have the required conditions to bear the payment of unused demand.”
