Fintech’s new rule: the ‘arm wrestling’ that divides unicorns and large traditional banks

Head of the Fintech and Means of Payments department, Fernanda Garibaldi, spoke to InvestNews about Public Consultation No. 78/2020 carried out by the Central Bank (Bacen) to define stricter rules for the operation of fintechs. According to Fernanda, if Bacen were to change the treatment for Payment Institutions, “It is important to make adjustments for the large players without suffocating small businesses, which would not have the capacity or assets to deal with a regulation that is set in stone”.
