The solid waste sector still faces difficulties in implementing the new rules, even after two years of the new Basic Sanitation Law.
Fabricio Soler and Rodrigo Bertoccelli commented on the matter to Valor Econômico and stressed that this is a project that takes time. Fabricio declared that “the gestation of a tender takes about 24 months, but I believe there is a wave of solid waste auctions to come” and Rodrigo highlighted that there is a great opportunity because “today we see the construction of a ‘pipeline’ that we didn’t see a few months ago. We’ve also seen companies from other sectors evaluating the market.”
