Decree No. 11,075 was approved on Thursday 19 May, establishing the procedures for the preparation of Sectoral Plans for Mitigation of Climate Changes, instituting the National System for the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (SINARE) and establisheing changes in the regulation of the use of Biogas and Biomethane.
In our new Environmental Alert, Fabricio Soler, Daniela Ferreira da Mota, Rafael Locatelli and Isabelle Ablas explain that the Decree constitutes both carbon credit and methane credit as financial assets, the deadline for presentation of proposals for the establishment of greenhouse gas emission reduction curves, and how SINARE will have a positive impact on the management of all greenhouse gas emissions, removals, reductions and offsets.
