Regulation on the use of tailings and waste resulting from mineral mining enters into force

ALERTS

As of 3 January 2022, Resolution No. 85/2021 of the National Mining Agency on procedures for the use of tailings and waste is in force.

The Resolution determines that the use of tailings and waste does not depend on a new mineral grant when linked to the mine where they were generated and exercised by the holder of the mining right in force, and provided that the Economic Use Plan (PAE), Mining Plan or part A similar technique foresees the structures for disposal of tailings and waste, as well as information on tailings and waste in the Annual Mining Report (RAL).
