The new Basic Sanitation Legal Framework determined that city halls across the country have until July of this year to apply tariffs or fees for waste services. Dourados, in the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul, is one of the many Brazilian cities that will have to adopt the measure. Fabricio Soler, who spoke with Midiamax, on the UOL site, on the subject, stated that “mayors do not need any more help than what the law already establishes, such as charging fees. And whoever does not comply with the new deadlines will have to sort it out in court”.
