On 29 October, the Central Bank through BCB Resolution No. 30/2020 expanded the range of possibilities for the use of the instant payment system, with the so-called “Pix Cobrança”, and the integration, through the Pix API, with the receiving users (eg, merchants and companies), adding new features to Pix. In addition to Resolution No. 30/2020, the Central Bank approved the Pix Penalties Manual, through BCB Resolution No. 31/2020, establishing that institutions participating in Pix and institutions in the process of joining Pix are subject to the penalties of: (i) fine; (ii) suspension; and (iii) exclusion from the instant payment arrangement, in the case of proven violations.
