Our Tax and Wealth Management team has prepared an alert regarding ICMS Agreement No. 69/2025, approved by CONFAZ and published in the Official Gazette of the Union on 4 June 2025.
The agreement authorizes the State of Rio de Janeiro to establish a special installment program for ICMS tax credits, with the possibility of significant reductions in fines and interest for debts related to taxable events that occurred up to 28 February 2025.
The program includes various regularization options, including compensation through judicial precatories and specific conditions for companies in bankruptcy proceedings.
The implementation of this benefit still depends on state regulation, which will define the deadlines and criteria for adhesion.
