Felsberg Advogados is pleased to announce that André Zanatta Fernandes de Castro has joined the firm as an equity partner. With over 20 years of experience, André will lead the firm’s Technology, Privacy, Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence, and Law Enforcement practices.
Recognized by Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, and Leaders League, André has had a distinguished career advising tech companies, startups, banks and fintechs on consulting, regulatory and litigation matters. His work includes legal opinions and product risk assessments, incident response and data breach management, handling of law enforcement data requests, AI governance and regulation, and high-stakes litigation before Superior Courts and regulators such as the ANPD, SENACON and CONAR.
Before joining Felsberg, André headed the Privacy, Data Protection and AI practice at a major law firm. He previously served as Senior Legal Counsel at Google Brazil for almost a decade, Associate General Counsel at McKinsey & Company for Latin America, and Visiting Associate at international law firm White & Case LLP in New York, where he worked on international arbitration cases.
André is also a faculty member at Insper and Fundação Getúlio Vargas and holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he received the Ann Watson Barber Outstanding Service Award for Exceptional Contributions to the Quality of Life at the University of Chicago.
“In today’s landscape, where data, technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping business models and regulators are increasingly active, legal responses must be technical, fast and actionable. I’m joining Felsberg with the purpose of delivering exactly that — strategic, precise support focused on the sustainable growth of our clients,” says André Zanatta.
The arrival of André and his team strengthens Felsberg’s commitment to innovation and legal excellence, positioning the firm at the forefront of Brazil’s evolving tech and regulatory landscape.
