Provisional Measure No. 1,068/2021, edited by the Presidency of the Republic on 6 September 2021, has amended the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Law No. 12,965/14) and the Copyright Law (Law No. 9,610/1998). In summary, the Provisional Measure seeks to reduce the autonomy of social media platforms in moderating content published by their users, especially those related to matters of a “political, ideological, scientific, artistic or religious” nature.
