Government sets rules for large energy consumers to adhere to the Voluntary Reduction in Demand plan

ALERTS

On 23 August, the Ministry of Mines and Energy established rules for the start of the voluntary program for the reduction of electricity consumption by large consumers. The voluntary membership program aims to make consumers shift part of their consumption to times when energy demand is traditionally lower, mitigating the risk of blackouts during “peak hours”. Partner Ligia Schlittler, from the Electric Power area, has set out the main considerations in an alert, available only in Portuguese, at https://bit.ly/3my9nJ8
