On 1 August, the administrative penalties provided for in the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) began to apply – among them warnings, suspension and blocking of data processed by companies, publicizing of the violation, deleting data and/or fines up to 2% of annual sales, limited to BRL 50 million per act.
