The CEDAE concession auction of four blocks roused the sanitation sector last week and raised more than BRL 22 billion, with a premium of 114% premium. Partner Rodrigo Bertoccelli, an expert on the subject, followed the entire auction process, and talked to Jornal Extra about Block 3 that can be re-auctioned by the state government if there are more municipalities in a possible new modeling. In the article, Bertoccelli commented that “Aegea paid significant premiums in order not to open a market for Equatorial, a new entrant. It is a pity that Block 3 was left without bids, but it may be an opportunity to re-auction, adding more municipalities whose mayors may now be attracted by the grants, since part of them goes to the municipalities”.
