Ministry of Agriculture provides services, activities and products considered essential for production chains

Covid-19 News

By means of Ordinance nº 116, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) set provisions on services, activities and products seen as essential for the proper functioning of food chain production. In light of the eventual restrictive measures adopted to face the pandemic, it is important to keep preserving the proper functioning of public services and essential activities which, if not preserved, can endanger the survival, health and safety of the population. The Ministry’s Ordinance defines a set of essential foods, drink and other products, services and activities; among them the production and distribution of fuels, cargo overland transportation, food inspection, construction and stocking material, etc. However, even maintained activities must strictly comply with minimal safety guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
