Impact on the provision of essential public services during the COVID-19 pandemic

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, judicial, governmental and parliamentary decisions were made which prevent supply cuts and exempt low-income households from paying for essential services such as water, sewage, electricity and transportation. These policies seeking to protect low-income taxpayers will, however, impact the cash flow of the public and private companies which perform such essential services. It is thus important to secure the cash flow and sustainability in these sectors.
