Anna Flávia has a great deal of experience in tax litigation, working in the administrative and judicial spheres, in both defense and the demanding of tax debts, as well as in the filing of court actions aimed at recovering tax credits.

She also works with customs issues, providing assistance and advice on overseas trade operations, and with defense as well as with demands for taxes or penalties arising from non-compliance with customs systems.

Additionally, she provides due diligence support in M&A operations and in the restructuring of companies subject to judicial reorganization. Anna Flávia has been recognized by Latin Lawyer, ITR World Tax, The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, Análise Advocacia, Análise Mulher and Leaders League.

Experience

Anna Flávia’s recent experience includes:

  • Providing administrative and judicial defense involving the tax debts of companies in the innovation, telecommunications and energy sectors;
  • Defending a non-profit organization in the recognition of its immunity to tax payments, as well as the annulling of demands for tax credits arising from non-observance of its immune or exempt status;
  • Advising and defending an international airline company in its customs procedures;
  • Administrative defenses related to the application of the Profit and Results Distribution Program (PLR);
  • Advising and defending companies whose corporate restructuring, through partial spin-off and incorporation of assets, had been disregarded by the Public Administration;
  • Proposing judicial measures and administrative defenses on behalf of companies in the entertainment sector, with a view to discussing the taxes to which they are subject;
  • Proposing measures with a view to recognizing the right of companies in Judicial Reorganization to special installments;
  • Advising and defending companies with respect to the recognition of special customs regimes, as well as special regimes conferred by States and Municipalities;
  • Advising companies in the pharmaceutical, automotive, metallurgical and energy sectors regarding the specific rules applied to these areas; and
  • Assistance in verifying the liability of controlled or affiliated companies, as well as partners and representatives regarding tax obligations.

She speaks regularly to trade associations on tax issues.
