On October 31, 2007, Deputy Ciro Gomes presented his report to the special committee of the Chamber of Deputies charged with responsibility for the reform of Law 8.884/94 (Brazilian Antitrust Law), in which the main alterations to the legal text and its corresponding motives are outlined.
A great number of the deputies present have asked to see the changes. Their comments are planned to be made during November.
We believe that the reform’s chances of approval by the end of 2007 have diminished substantially due to the fact that, following approval by the special commission, the Project still needs to be voted upon by the Chamber’s assembly and discussed and voted upon by the Senate.
